New York City, also known as “the Big Apple” or “the city that never sleeps”, is most certainly one of the most diverse and intriguing cities in the world!

When you plan your vacation here, know that you have one experience greater than the next waiting in line, all of which are ready to make your visit one that you will want to repeat again and again. From incredible architecture, including some of the world's best-known buildings such as the Empire State Building and the Art Deco-inspired Chrysler Building - over famous landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge - to harbor cruises or Harlem tours, the fabulous Broadway musicals or the designer shops of 5th Avenue – there is much too much to experience for a short stay only!
One of the most visited areas of New York City is the island of Manhattan. This part of the City is home to an endless number of wonderfully authentic ethnic restaurants, great shops and fascinating attractions – with a constant buzz pulsating through it all, a vibe that is generated by Manhattan's thriving and always active business district, the excitement emanating from thousands of thrilled Broadway audiences as well as from happy visitors strolling the streets of the city.
Times Square, Central Park and the Empire State Building are but a handful of exciting spots to check out while you are in town, all available to explore year round – during winter months, skating by the Rockefeller Center is an absolute must; even if you would rather watch than put your own skating skills to the test on the ice. If your interests lie within the Fine Arts, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, better known as the Met, has to be on your list of places to explore. This museum boasts more than two million works of art including paintings, sculptures, photographs and decorative arts from all corners of the world – representing the creative mind of humankind all the way from ancient through modern-day time.
Your stay does not necessarily have to end with Manhattan, however. Overlooking the sights and activities that other boroughs have to offer would be a grand mistake. Brooklyn has famous Conley Island with the well-know beachfront boardwalk and huge amusement park areas, the New York Aquarium, Brooklyn History Museum and the Brooklyn Children's Museum. The Bronx is noted for its excellent Botanical Garden and Zoo and for Yankee Stadium, of course. Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, in Queens, was the site of two World Fairs; nearby is Shea Stadium, home of the New York Mets. If you are looking to avoid the crowds, a visit to Staten Island offers a glimpse of New York of the past, with the Richmond Town Restoration, a re-creation of 18th-century New York, rural farmland, beaches, salt marshes, and wildlife preserves.

Even if none of that lies within your spheres of interest, there is always the choice of simply checking into your New York City hotel and taking one day at a time. Walk the streets and watch New Yorkers go through their everyday life, peep down side streets and you may find fountains, sudden greenery or beautiful bursts of flowers. Find yourself a bench or ledge and sit back while you watch all the people passing by. It is all up to you. In a city that never sleeps.
